Consultation extended

The public consultation on the proposals for Tabley Hill Solar Farm has been extended by one week and will now close on Tuesday 14th July. If you have not yet shared your views, there is still time to take part.

Tabley Hill Solar Farm

Delivering solutions for the energy transition

Aukera is proposing a solar farm in Cheshire East that would generate 20MW of clean electricity - enough to meet the annual electricity needs of around 10,500 homes, which is equivalent to powering all homes in Knutsford.

At a time when the UK needs to strengthen its energy security, the scheme would increase the supply of domestically produced electricity, helping protect against reliance on imported fuels while supporting the transition away from fossil fuels.

Alongside generating renewable electricity, the proposals would include habitat improvements designed to leave the site better for wildlife than it is today, as well as a £8,000 per year Community Benefit Fund, ensuring the scheme provides wider environmental and local benefits to Tabley and Knutsford.

The above red edge plan shows the total land available however not all of the land will be required for the development. Therefore, we are seeking views from a range of consultees for which areas of the site would be more suitable for solar development. The total site area is approximately 150 acres of which we need up to approximately 100 acres of solar development. The remaining area will either be used for habitat improvement or remain in agricultural use.

Have your say

The consultation is open from Tuesday 23rd June to Tuesday 14th July 2026.

The Community Benefit Fund

We are also seeking your views on the Community Benefit Fund. This is a fund linked to the solar farm that would provide around £8,000 per year to support local projects and initiatives.
