The finalised plans

Thank you to everyone who took the time to share feedback on the proposals for Tabley Hill Solar Farm. The feedback received, alongside further environmental and technical work, has helped shape the final design now submitted to Cheshire East Council.

The final proposals include:

• A more focused solar farm, with the development concentrated on land north of Swains Walk and greater separation from the route.

• New native hedgerow and tree planting to help screen the solar panels and maintain the character of Swains Walk.

• Significant areas of new habitat, including species-rich grassland, provision for breeding bird species, scrub, woodland and new hedgerows to enhance biodiversity.

• A substantial development-free buffer around Tabley Hill Cemetery, supported by additional planting to help protect its setting.

• Refined access arrangements designed to reduce impacts on Swains Walk and retain existing trees.

• A £10,000 annual Community Benefit Fund, providing approximately £400,000 over the proposed 40-year operational life of the development to support local projects and initiatives.

Together, these measures create a smaller and more focused scheme that would generate clean, renewable electricity while delivering landscape, biodiversity and community benefits for Tabley and Knutsford.
